Restaurant El Charro

I mean, enchiladas verdes are the same everywhere. Right? WRONG. Holy hell these were PERFECT! Sauce was obviously completely homemade and had the perfect level of heat. Shredded chicken was delicious and the whole dish was bomb diggity. Margarita was not from a mix and was just the right blend of strong, tart, and sweet. This is a can't miss

First time at this restaurant. Had their lunch special, chicken fried steak with gravy, French fries, salad and toast. This was the best CFS I have ever had. Highly recommend. Our wait staff was very courteous and professional.

Choice Mexican food found here. Ordered the carnitas guisada plate. This comes with refried beans, rice, salad, guacamole, good portion of carnitas guisada, and flour tortillas. Complimentary chips and salsa were delivered to my table also. The service was excellent as two waitresses and one waiter were checking on me courteous. Place is big and roomy but filled up fast with customers by the time I finished my plate. The plate was filling and everything was done right and delicious. I very much enjoyed having lunch here.

1st if all, I am very critical of Mexican and Tex Mex food. Along the 281, there are a lot of places to eat called Jalisco or El this or that. I will go off the Expressway to eat here. This place is a gem in Alice. Do yourself a favor and come get these amazing homemade tortillas, the chorizo beans with chips and salsa and of course great Mexican food! I had a Fiesta omelet and papa Ala Mexicana and the potatoes were delicious. A lot of places mess up the la Mexicana surprisingly. Not El Charro. Thanks for delicious lunch on our way home.

I had not been to this restaurant in over a decade and decided to try it when I was back in town. I am happy to say the food was absolutely delicious. I had several different tacos, and they were all amazing. The service was great, and the place was super clean. I definitely recommend this place for anyone looking to get a great tex-mex meal!

Stopped in on my way home for a quick lunch. Ordered the #25 plate. Quite an extensive menu with plenty of options! Chips come out with not only salsa but a chili that is pretty awesome. The place filled up with locals pretty fast. One thing I did not like is all FIVE TVs are on a channel in Spanish. I understand very little Spanish so it would have been nice to catch up on the news during lunch. My meal came out quickly. It had beef, shrimp, sausage, guacamole, rice and two Quesadillas. Everything was very good. I would stop in again.i used the wrong credit card when paying and the staff was so helpful in reversing the charges so I could make up for my mistake. Very good customer service!!

Food was delicious. My fav is the chips and chorizo with beans dip. I had a pancake plate thank you!! Very good.

Generous portions of tasty food. I had shrimp racheros. Lots of shrimp and fresh vegetables. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Great meal
